As Ramadan approaches, the Gaza Strip continues to suffer from Israeli attacks. The Ministry of Health reported that at least 85 people were killed and another 130 injured in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to more than 31,000 in the conflict between Israel and the Gaza Strip since October 7.
The United States and European Union countries evacuated staff from their embassies and stepped up security in the capital, Port-au-Prince, which has been besieged by violence from armed gangs. U.S. military sources said an operation was carried out Sunday to protect the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince because of increased violence near the diplomatic headquarters and the Haitian airport.
Germany and other European Union countries traveled to the Dominican Republic, where they reported armed attacks on civilian infrastructure such as hospitals, as well as food shortages and blockades of major transportation routes.
In Argentina, the Confederation of State Workers called for a new 24-hour national strike against the policies of President Javier Miley and warned of an intensification of measures in the coming weeks amid uncertainty over attempts to close a state agency and another cut.
