Welcome to the Saving Throes podcast! This is my Tabletop role-playing game podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a topic or theme along with my take on current happenings in the world of tabletop role-playing games and semi regular updates on the games I am currently involved with, or new games or products I have come across.

Since this year marks the 50th anniversary of Dungeons and Dragons, I decided I would do a top 10 list of my favourite classic old school D&D monsters. So many of these iconic monsters appeared at the dawn of the game and still terrorize many a player to this day.  While there won't be any particular revelations on this list, I also try to present them with my own memories and stories of encountering or running these Monsters. Tune in to hear how many of these monsters appeared in the D&D movie from last year, and  the one very surprising and very iconic monster that was in the first (and much worse) D&D movie from 2001, that not appear in the 2023 movie at all!
