ישנם הטוענים שרוצים שיהי' "איש תחת גפנו וגו'", ומהו הצורך בכל ההעלמות והסתרים, ובמילא כל דבר טוב בא ע"י נסיונות וכו'?! והמענה לזה – מענה שיגרום להם תענוג בעבודת ה' במעמד ומצב כזה: כיון ש"גלו לאדום שכינה עמהם", ו"נעוץ תחלתן בסופן" דוקא, וא"כ אי אפשר להשיג עצמות ומהות כי אם ב"אדום", ובתוך ההעלמות וההסתרים, ודוקא ע"י קיום מצוות מעשיות ללא הבנה והשגה וללא געשמאַק. ולכן זיכו את פלוני בן פלוני בעבודה שנראה לו שמרחיקתו מכל הענינים וכו', ודוקא באופן שאינו יודע ומרגיש העילוי שבה – כי דוקא עי"ז יבוא לעילוי הגדול ביותר – התקשרות עם עצמו"ה א"ס ב"ה.

Some people argue that life should be in a manner of “each man under his vine, etc.,” without the hiddenness and concealment that cause everything to have trials and tribulations etc. To this comes the answer – an answer that brings pleasure to their Divine service – is as follows: Because “When they were exiled to Edom, the Divine Presence went with them,” and “their beginning is embedded in their end” specifically, therefore, the only way to reach the Divine Essence and Being is in “Edom,” within the concealment and hiddenness, and specifically through the fulfillment of practical mitzvos without understanding and comprehension, and without enjoyment. Therefore, a person is given the privilege of a Divine service in which it seems like he is being distanced from it all, and specifically where he doesn’t see its quality – because it is specifically in this way that he reaches an even greater level – connection to the Divine Essence and Being.
