איתא בגמ' "מפני מה נתחייבו שונאיהן של ישראל שבאותו הדור כלי' .. מפני שנהנו מסעודתו של אותו רשע וכו'", שנהנו מזה גופא שזהו "סעודתו של אותו רשע". וההוראה: גם אם כאשר בפני האדם נעמד נסיון קשה ביותר שאינו יכול לעמוד בפניו, כמו ההכרח להשתתף ב"סעודה של אותו רשע" (או כל צרכים הגשמיים שנכללים ב"אכילה"), אבל מדוע הוא נהנה מזה שזהו סעודתו של "אותו רשע"??!! ועד"ז בנוגע לענין החינוך: גם אם מוכרחים עפ"י חוקי המדינה שהילדים ילמדו גם לימודי חול, אבל מדוע הנך נהנה מזה?! תכנס לחדר ותבכה! מדוע הנך נהנה מזה ש"אותו רשע" משבח את ילדך ומזמין אותו ל"סעודה"... ועד שנעשה מנהג במדינה זו, שכאשר הילד מצטיין בלימודי קודש אין עושים מזה שום "ענין", ואילו כאשר הילד מצטיין בלימודי חול – עושים "רעש" גדול, מפרסמים בעיתונים, מחלקים פרסים, משיבים את הילד בראש השולחן וכו'!!! יש לדעת: גישה כזאת, המבטאת את כל כללות היחס לנפה"א לעומת הנפה"ב, מהרסת את יסודי החינוך הכשר!! ועפי"ז יובן מדוע גם ה"טף" נכללו בעונש כלי' ר"ל, כי במקום לקבל החינוך שחכמתו של הקב"ה הוא דבר הכי נעלה הי' ה"ונהפוך הוא"...

The Gemara asks, “Why were the enemies of Jewish people [i.e., the Jewish people] in that generation deserving of annihilation…because they had enjoyment from that wicked one’s feast etc.” The lesson is that even if a person faces a very difficult test that he can’t withstand, such as the need to partake in “that wicked one’s feast” (and all physical needs are called “eating”), still, why did they have enjoyment from being at the feast of “that wicked one”?! Similarly, in the context of Jewish education: even if the law requires schools to teach secular studies, why do people have enjoyment from it?! If that’s what you have to do, at least go into your room afterwards and cry about it! Why do you enjoy the fact that “that wicked one” heaps praise upon your child and invites him to “the feast”...to the point that it’s become the custom in this country that when a child excels in holy subjects, nobody makes a big deal about it, but when the child excels in secular subjects, they publish it in the newspapers and give awards etc.! It must be known that this approach demonstrates the overall difference between the attitude towards the divine soul and the animal soul, and this approach destroys the foundations of proper Jewish education! Accordingly, we can understand why “little children” were included in the punishment of annihilation Rachmana litzlan – because instead of being taught that Torah is Hashem’s wisdom and the loftiest wisdom, “it was reversed…”
