🔴 James Van Straten, research and data analyst at crypto insights firm CryptoSlate, flagged multibillion-dollar BTC withdrawals via his post on Twitter here https://lnkd.in/dn4YFvWi Just over $2.3B worth of #Bitcoin left exchanges. One of the biggest withdrawals in over 5 years.

❗ Bitcoin leaving exchanges = HODL = More Demand = Higher Price

🔴 Starting April 26, 2024, UK law enforcement will gain more power to seize crypto assets linked to crime, including terrorism. This follows approval of secondary legislation under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023. The provisions enable authorities to freeze and confiscate such assets, including through civil recovery and crypto asset confiscation orders.

🔴 An official from Indonesia’s crypto regulator, Bappebti, has urged the Finance Minister to reconsider tax rates for digital assets. Currently, cryptocurrencies are treated as commodities and are subject to value-added tax (VAT) and income tax. However, with crypto oversight transferring to the broader financial services regulator OJK in 2025, there’s a call for tax review. Tirta Karma Senjaya from Bappebti highlighted the need for this review, noting that tax regulations typically undergo annual checks, emphasizing the evolving nature of the crypto landscape.
