The Corporate Transparency Act (the “CTA” ), which addresses anonymous shell companies and money laundering activities, became effective January 1, 2024.  The CTA establishes reporting obligations that will require a range of entities to file identifying information about themselves, their beneficial owners (including senior officers and other decisionmakers), as well as people involved in creating or registering the entities with FinCEN (a “BOI Report”).
