Sculpture on the islands of Waiheke and Venice: fast favourites with Brett Graham

A group of acclaimed Maori artists have been selected to exhibit as part of the centrepiece international exhibition at this year’s Venice Biennale in May. Brett Graham was one of those chosen.  But it’s not the only island hopping the sculptor has been doing this year. Brett is the curator of this year’s Sculpture on the Gulf, opening this weekend on Waiheke Island, Tāmaki Makaurau. It’s arguably the most highly regarded contemporary sculpture exhibition in the country, forming a trail across the headlands, and also one of the most beautiful.
