The Divine Paradox

Season 2 Episode 10

Send us a text

“He called the crowd with his disciples, and said to them, "If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel, will save it.” - Mark 8:34-35

We all need money and material resources to live in this world. Most of us like to be recognized or acknowledged for the good we do. We all need some level of emotional intimacy. Many of us have a need for physical intimacy as well. All of these things are good and necessary.

None of these things by themselves will bring the peace and satisfaction we ultimately seek. How many times have we heard of folk getting everything they ever wanted only to find themselves empty? Those who seek silver will never be satisfied with silver the scripture says. Same with the rest.

True fulfillment comes from making a positive contribution in the lives of others. The more we give, the more we gain. This is the divine paradox.

I’m Horace McMilon. This is 60 seconds of hope. Peace be with you.
