INTRODUCTION - (00:00)

QUESTIONS

Q1. a) In Joshua 20, why does God allow the avenger of the alleged murderer or manslayer to kill the person if he runs away from the city of refuge, since it seems like God is permitting or promoting taking vengeance into your own hands? - (00:01)

Q1. b) If the person who has slayed another person was convicted and deemed guilty of murder, why does God allow the family of the victim to kill the person as in Deuteronomy 19:12 (KJV): 'Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.', rather than the congregation or government carrying out the execution? Wouldn’t it be promoting vengeance? - (08:48)
