פורים קטן ה'תרפ"ז הי' כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר במאָסקווע, שם היתה ההתנגדות להפצת היהדות בין ילדי ישראל גדולה ביותר. בהיותו שם הודיע שבפורים קטן יאמר מאמר חסידות בביהכנ"ס. כאשר הדבר נודע, הגיע שליח מ"חלונות הגבוהים" ו"הזהיר" אותו שיהיו מרגלים בעת אמירת המאמר וימסרו את תוכנו לגורמים המתאימים ועליו לדעת מה יכול להיות התוצאות... בפועל אמר את המאמר, בפני ביהכנ"ס מלא אנשים, מיוסד עה"פ "מפי עוללים ויונקים יסדת עז.. להשבית אויב ומתנקם", ופירש את הפסוק בדברים ברורים – שצריך לדאוג שב"פי עוללים" יהיו דברים כאלו שיבטלו את ה"אויב ומתנקם" וכו'. דברים אלו פעלו התעוררות חזקה בין השומעים שיש לתת לילדים חינוך כשר ולא יתפעלו משום דבר. ומזה הלימוד כמה חשוב הענין דחינוך "עוללים ויונקים", ועי"ז מובטח שכלל ישראל יתקיים. ובאותיות פשוטות: יש לחנך א"ע, את הילדים ואת הנכדים שילכו בדרך התורה ושלא להתפעל מהקשיים וכו'. ולהשפיע על העסקנים ציבוריים שיתנו "דין קדימה" לענין החינוך!

משיחת פורים ה'תשל"ג

On Purim Katan 5687 (1927), my father-in-law, the Rebbe, was in Moscow, the center of opposition to Yiddishkeit and Jewish education. When the Rebbe announced that he would deliver a maamar in the shul, an agent came to warn him that government spies would be present during the maamar, who would report what the Rebbe said to the authorities; therefore, the Rebbe should beware of the potential consequences... Nevertheless, the Rebbe delivered the maamar in front of a packed shul, based on the verse, “Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings You have established strength...to destroy enemy and avenger”; the Rebbe explained in unambiguous terms the need to ensure that the words emerging “from the mouths of babes” should be those that nullify and “destroy enemy and avenger.” The maamar had a tremendous impact, inspiring the listeners to give their children a proper Jewish education without fear of anything. From here we see how important it is to ensure the Jewish education of the “babes and sucklings,” which guarantees the survival of the Jewish people. In simple terms: we must educate ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren to follow the path of Torah and not to be influenced by any hardships, etc., and we should influence those with a say in the matter to see to it that when it comes to spending public money, Jewish education should be the first priority.
