Frederick C. Leiner, Beth El member, is a lawyer, historian and the author of the Prisoners of the Bashaw: The Nineteen-Month Captivity of American Sailors in Tripoli, 1803–1805

Arthur Fergenson was a federal judge in Manhattan and then Chief Justice of Warren E. Burger on the U.S. Supreme Court. In private practice as a litigator for over 40 years, he was a clerk to federal narcotics prosecutor, served as general counsel for the ACTION Agency, and taught at the law schools at the University of Maryland and Indiana University (Bloomington)
