In an electrifying upset at the Bob Sechrest Fieldhouse in Park Hills, Missouri, the Mineral Area College Women's Basketball team, ranked #17 in the NJCAA, pulled off a remarkable victory against their rivals, the #9 Three Rivers Community College Lady Raiders. The highly anticipated game, held on Saturday, January 27th, 2024, during Homecoming, drew a packed crowd and witnessed the MAC Cardinals (20-1, 5-0), under the guidance of Coach Briley Palmer, emerge victorious in a fiercely contested battle.
Freshman guard Maddie Ayers stole the spotlight with a stellar performance, leading the game with an impressive 29 points. Ayers' clutch play, coming off the bench, was instrumental as she demonstrated her scoring prowess, shooting 7 for 12 from the field and an impressive 4 for 5 from beyond the arc during critical moments.
