1 John‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ “Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” THE MOST FREQUENTLY USED WORD FOR LOVE IN THE NEW TESTAMENT IS AGAPE. AGAPE IS A GREEK WORD THAT DESCRIBES DIVINE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE ❤️ THIS IS THE LOVE THAT DISPELS SICKNESS AND ENHANCES HEALTH. ANY OTHER TYPE OF LOVE UNSANCTIFIED BY AGAPE LOVE IS A SUBTLE THIEF OF HEALTH AND HAPPINESS John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. 11I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. The love which Christ diffuses through the whole being is a vitalizing power. Every vital part—the brain, the heart, the nerves—it touches with healing. By it the highest energies of the being are roused to activity. It frees the soul from the guilt and sorrow, the anxiety and care, that crush the life forces. With it come serenity and composure. It implants in the soul, joy that nothing earthly can destroy,—joy in the Holy Spirit,—health-giving, life-giving joy. – {Ministry of Healing p.115.3} THERE IS NO BETTER ARTICULATION OF TRUE LOVE ❤️ THAN WHAT IS FOUND IN 1 CORINTHIANS 13 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; 5 it is not arrogant or rude. AGAPE LOVE ❤️ EXTENDS EVEN TO OUR ENEMIES Romans 5:6-8 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
