Republicans Display More Legislative Impotence, Fail to Impeach DHS Secretary Mayorkas

Published 2 years, 3 months ago
Description
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is not being impeached after all. Despite weeks of boasts from Republicans in Congress that they would send him a message, House Speaker Mike Johnson couldn’t muster up the votes. After chaos on the House floor, Republicans were one vote short. Then, a Republican bill to send U.S. aid to Israel died under bipartisan opposition. Add this to the fiasco over the border bill and you have a pretty embarrassing week for Congressional Republicans. The Nevada primary results are in and it turns out Republican voters want none of the candidates they’ve been offered. President Biden cleaned up on the Democrats ballot. We will talk about all of it with former KGO talkshow host and presidential historian and author, John Rothmann.
