Paul Lawrence Vann is the founder and President of Wealth Building Academy, LLC, a leadership consultancy based in Fort Washington, Maryland, near Washington, DC. Before he became an entrepreneur, Paul served over 20 years in the United States Air Force (USAF; he retired with the rank of lieutenant colonel after serving twelve consecutive years in the Pentagon and a year as a Capitol Hill Fellow working for a member of Congress in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Paul is a speaker and two-time #1 international best-selling author. His current book is Leadership Is Influence: A Three-Pronged Approach To Becoming A Leader of Influence. He is also the author of Faith For Times Like Now and Living On Higher Ground: How to Live with Passion, Motivation, and Joy.

Paul provides leadership development training and a digital leadership course, "How to Become a Leader of Influence." He hosts the Wealth Academy Podcast and leads the YouTube channel Leadership Is Influence. Paul earned an M.S. in Contracts and Acquisition Management from Florida Institute of Technology, an M.A. in Business Management from Central Michigan University, and a B.A in Business Administration and Accounting from Shaw University. He resides in Maryland with his two GEN Z children.
