Ask the average person sitting in a coffee shop or out doing some grocery shopping, “Who was Jesus?” You’ll get a variety of answers; a good moral teacher, a prophet, a revolutionary, or as we discussed last week, “He never existed.”

What if you asked that same person, “What did He require of His followers?” Some might say love others or give to the poor, which would be true in part. Many would have no idea!

Jesus said, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross (death) and follow me.” This is a very costly request for a moral teacher or prophet.

This week, we’ll be focusing on Jesus’ call to Discipleship and Loving God.
