Supernatural Season 5 Wrap-Up | Special Features & Our Favorite Episodes
Description
Supernatural Season 5 wrap-up đź’ť Berly and LA dig into the season five special features (including Bobby's house and the Ghostfacers web series), share their favorite episodes of the apocalyptic season, and raise a glass to the characters we're leaving behind, on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast.
First, thank you to Kayla H for the lovely new review! And to everyone messaging us about going to your first Supernatural convention because of the show: GO. And if you meet Rich and Rob, tell them Berly and LA sent you. Then it's on to the special features: an interactive tour of Bobby's house, real-life paranormal stories, Eric Kripke on juggling seven episodes at once in the writers' room, a behind-the-scenes peek with location manager Russ Hamilton's tour of the backlot town (Jody's diner, Dean and Cas's alley, and the hardware store they built just to blow up), and the season five gag reel. Plus, a full recap of the Ghostfacers web series: Ed, Harry, Spruce, and Maggie on the hunt again, a little Harry and Maggie history, and an episode appropriately titled Shattered.
Episode Highlights:
- Our tour of Bobby's house (we wanted MORE)
- The paranormal stories special feature (real? You decide.)
- The Ride of the Horsemen feature: why the horsemen got cars instead of horses, and why cutting off their rings was the only way to beat them
- Berly's theory: the angels' downfalls as the seven deadly sins (Zachariah's pride, anyone?).
- Mr. Beecher, the Ghostfacers' piano-playing cat
- Eric Kripke on the madness of the writers' room
- The gag reel (yes, there's a Jared Blue Steel sighting)
- Our toast to Jo (Alona Tal), Ellen (Samantha Ferris), Anna (Julie McNiven), Zachariah (Kurt Fuller), and Gabriel (Richard Speight Jr.), even though we know he's not gone for good
Our season five favorites: LA's picks are Changing Channels (a breath of fresh air, and the Trickster was HOT), The Real Ghostbusters (Chuck at a convention!), and Abandon All Hope ("it just got me"). Berly's picks are Free to Be You and Me, Hammer of the Gods, The Devil You Know, and Two Minutes to Midnight.
Your turn, hunters: What's YOUR favorite season five episode? And which horseman's car would you drive? Tell us in the Spotify comments, leave a rating and review on Apple Podcasts (it's how new hunters find us), or send us fan mail.
