The United Nations Supreme Court will rule today, Friday, on South Africa's request for interim orders in a genocide case against Israel, including that Israel halt its offensive in Gaza. The decision is a preliminary phase of the case brought by South Africa before the International Court of Justice in The Hague, which alleges that Israel's military action in its war against Palestine amounts to genocide. At least 26,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed by Israel in Palestine since it launched its military offensive on October 7.
In Venezuela, President Nicolás Maduro appealed to save the Barbados agreements signed with a sector of the opposition for the peace and stability of the country. On the same day, the National Assembly denounced the extreme right for pursuing a destabilizing agenda aimed at hindering the holding of the next presidential elections.
