הצ"צ מבאר הטעם שהפטורת פ' בשלח היא שירת נשים (שירת דבורה), כי דוקא שירת הנשים שבפרשתנו היתה בשמחה גדולה "בתופים ובמחולות". ומסיים ש"הכל הי' מן העפר", הכל תלוי באשה. וההוראה: דוקא באשה תלוי' האוירה בבית ‏–‏ היא המשכנעת את בעלה שהכל בא מאת ה', "וברכך ה' אלקיך בכל אשר תעשה", ובמילא אין למה להיות רדוף אחר הפרנסה והשגת עוד דולר... עד כ"כ שזה מפריע ללימוד התורה וכו', ובכלל אין לרדוף אחר גשמיות ו"מותרות", כי "אולת אדם תסלף דרכו" ‏–‏ הנהגה כזאת של האדם גורמת ל"תסלף דרכו" ‏–‏ בסוף הולך הכסף, שעמל כל כך ע"ז, לשלם לרופאים ר"ל וכיו"ב, אלא העיקר צ"ל הרוחניות של הבית, שיהי' "ושכנתי בתוכם", שהבעל ילמד תורה במנוחת הנפש, והאשה תחנך את הילדים בדרך התורה, ובכך להיות ראוי ל"ברכת ה'" והכסף ילך לענינים טובים וכו'.

The lesson is that the atmosphere in the home depends specifically on the woman; she is the one who convinces her husband that everything comes from Hashem, “And Hashem your G-d will bless you in all that you do,” and that therefore, there is no need to chase after a livelihood or earning another dollar, which ends up detracting from Torah study etc.; in general, one shouldn’t strive for materiality and excesses, because “A man’s folly perverts his way” – such behavior causes a person’s “path to be perverted” – the money he worked so hard for ends up going G-d forbid to pay doctors and the like. Rather, the main thing must be the spirituality of the home, for Hashem to “dwell among them,” for the husband to study Torah with peace of mind, and for the woman to educate the children in the way of the Torah. In this way, the house is fitting for “the blessing of Hashem,” so that the money goes towards good things etc.
