New York’s Adult Survivors Act became one of the state’s most significant legal measures for survivors seeking justice over allegations of sexual abuse from years or even decades earlier. The law created a temporary one-year window allowing adults to pursue certain civil claims that had previously been blocked because the statute of limitations had expired.
