• Duquesne University opened up their new College of Medicine for students to earn DO degrees. Here’s what being a doctor of osteopathic medicine means.
• The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania figures that by 2030, the state will be short more by than 1,000 primary care docs. The Association of American Medical Colleges estimates a potential shortage of primary care physicians between 17,800 and 48,000 by 2034. 
• A study published in December asked about 500 third- and fourth-year med students across 125 schools about the considerations they’d take when thinking about residencies, and 58% said they’d be unlikely to apply for a residency program in a state with abortion restrictions. The NYT explained how abortion restrictions have changed the landscape for people who previously wanted to study reproductive care.
• Comedian Hannah Gadsby talks about being introduced to “her people” via Mardi Gras in her special “Nanette.”
• This year’s Pittsburgh Pride celebration will be held at Point State Park.
