In the gospel of Luke 17:1, Jesus says to his disciples, "It is impossible that no offenses should come." 

You will be offended by someone. You're going to be offended at home; you're going to be offended in the workplace. Somebody will do you wrong at some time, and you can set your watch by it.

Humankind is alienated from God. People delight in wounding one another. That's just the nature of sin in the human heart. Jesus says, "But woe to him through whom they come." In other words, God says, "You leave it to me. You give it all to me. I'll look after it. You forgive. I'll sort it all out in the end. If justice is due, then justice will be done. You leave it all to me." Thank you, God.
