We learn that narcissists live in fantasy land and they script out a role for their target (s) to play in their fantasy. When we don't measure up, we start to see their ugly side. Narcissists are toddlers in adult bodies and the world keeps them entertained. Chosen ones don't keep entertaining narcissists. God even tells us to stop entertaining demons (paraphrasing). The game of narcissism on the world stage is all about fantasies and entertainment.
