Description
I have started adding walks into my day to supplement my workouts. I use this time to clear my head and learn something new/remind myself of something that I totally forgot. In this episode, we revisit our conversation about the combination of communication, psychological and sociological approaches to family communication, and how our communication impacts our parenting styles, focusing today on my favorite, positive parenting. Positive Parenting has been studied for a century and refers to a parenting style that, among other things, is empathetic, nurturing, empowering, caring, and emotionally warm and secure, yet still teaches discipline and sets boundaries, but does so in a way that builds the child's self esteem and supports a mutually respectful relationship. It's easy to do this when they're little, but as our kids become teens, many parents fall away from or struggle with this style. Let's talk about why you should revisit this parenting style.
