It's a new year (2024) and with each new year comes new opportunities. If one of those is going on a wildlife photography trip, here are a few things to consider:

Planning

  • Which animals do you hope to see?
  • When is the best time to see them?
  • When are they most active?

Photography

  • How do you plan to use your photographs?
  • What difference does that make to your camera settings?
  • How well do you know your camera?
  • Do you need to schedule some practice photography?
  • Can you look at another photographers work (for inspiration) and understand how they achieved a particular result?
  • Do you need to take a photography course?

Admin

  • Do you need to get your photography equipment serviced?
  • Do you have the correct documentation?
  • Do you have the correct insurance?

You want to make sure that you get as much enjoyment as possible from your trip and spending a little time preparing for it can make all the difference.
