Episode 25 with Lindsey Vestal
Description
Happy New Year! I'm delighted to be back with this new batch of podcast episodes with some fascinating guests & clever colleagues and friends
January is often a time of behaviour change...and perhaps some of OUR behaviours need to change as well?
I'm joined in this episode for a fascinating conversation by Lindsey Vestal, an OT specialising in pelvic health
In this episode we discuss:
- the importance of inter-disciplinary pelvic rehab
- how we can develop a person centered and practical approach to pelvic health
- can we put aside our feelings of responsibility to have ALL the answers and fix ALL the people (vs being open to what's happening in the room!)
- using tools like motivational interviewing and sensory processing
- the concept of 'Explore, Offer, Explore'
- why the term 'non-compliant' is such a trigger for me!!
what I loved about this conversation was our look at the literature but also (hopefully!) some immediately clinically applicable skills that you can start using tomorrow to bring the psychosocial into the conversation!
You can find Lindsey on instagram as @functionalpelvis and of course you can find me there too - @michellelyons_muliebrity and all the information about my online courses is at CelebrateMuliebrity.com
If you've enjoyed this podcast, I'd be delighted if you'd rate, review and subscribe (and tell your friends so that more people can join the women's health conversation! Mx) and don't forget to #celebratemuliebrity
