In Lesson 25 we studied part 3 of “The Commandments of Jesus.” Now we are going to dive into part 4.
I encourage you to listen to the lessons over and over again.
Study the commandments of Jesus in depth.
Ask God to help you to understand the commandments and to give you the strength to obey them.
Let’s begin.
Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind.
Matthew 22:37 Jesus declared, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. (Mark 12:30, Luke 10:27)
Love Jesus more than your family, yourself, or your possessions. Prioritize your dedication and commitment to Jesus.
Matthew 19:29-30 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
Luke 14:26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be My disciple. (Matthew 10:37)
Love one another. Lay down your life for your friends. Be known as a disciple of Jesus that loves others.
John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”
John 15:12-13 (NIV) My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command.
John 15:17 This is My command to you: Love one another.
Love your enemies. Love people that do not love you. Reflect the perfect love that God has for people.
Matthew 5:43-47 You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor’ and ‘Hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
