#758: A live Amazon Q/A with our Facebook members and PAC students

Published 2 years, 6 months ago
Description

Once per week our Amazon seller leadership team and I love to go live on Zoom with whoever can join us and answer as many ecommerce and Amazon selling related questions as possible. We love to capture the best moments from these Monday night sessions for you and turn them into a podcast episode.

Highlights pulled from the team:

Jim gives an overview of the My Silent Team community and all it has to offer! - a listener refers to this segment as the "Jimfomercial"

Jim talks about how new sellers are encouraged to find "test worthy ASINs" or "underserved listings" on Amazon - must listen to podcasts include #554, 555, 612 that really explain in detail what this means!

Robin Joy explains the Kick Start Bootcamp for new sellers (must be a member of PAC) - less than $40/month for 4 coaching sessions! https://silentjim.com/kickstart for more info. Upcoming 2 day workshop - themed: 3 step check with 4 week test - which will happen the 2 days before The Proven Conference (May 23-25, 2024). https://provenamazoncourse.com/100 for more info.

Jim talks about how rather than relying on specific tools when looking for "test worthy ASINs," he looks for "the skateboard ramp of death." Jim talks about Attorney Jeff Schick and how keeping him on retainer for a few dollars a day has been helpful. Coach Robin Joy also shares some additional insight about utilizing tools when sourcing.

Jim and Coach Robin Joy talk about inventory management using Replen Dashboard for how to best know which items, which stores, etc are the most profitable. Also a reminder to all sellers to go inch deep and mile wide!

The guest asks Jim about pricing and the buy box! Jim reminds listeners that he has been posting MANY examples of break even at the buy box examples on the My Silent Team Facebook page!

Jim recommends podcast episode 554 - where he talks about ignoring the buy box on millions of ASINs with the worst case scenario being break even in the end and the best case scenario being a very profitable outcome! Many sellers gloss right over test worthy ASINs

Robin Joy recommends (on youtube) podcast episode 612 titled: I STILL can't find any Amazon REPLENS - someone help! where she shows examples at the end of the video on how she goes about finding underserved or test worthy ASINs. Jim mentions that once this concept starts to make sense and the light bulb moment happens, it's like Pandora's Box opens up!!

Jim talks about how he loves to help new sellers get over mole hills that feel like mountains when starting! Categories for new sellers to start: home and office, kitchen, pet supplies (not food), sporting goods/outdoors, science and technology. (these categories don't need ungating but there may be brands within them that do) Jim and Robin Joy recommend the PAC and Kickstart Bootcamp which help get new sellers up and running!

Podcast #369 for all things Keepa! Keepa tracks data that even Amazon doesn't share. Drops = rank changes (which means at least 1 sale has happened).

Jim discusses shipping to FBA and the importance of entering the correct dates as Amazon 'pre-sells' items before they actually arrive in their warehouses

Jim encourages new sellers that once committed, it is time to GO! No need for analysis paralysis as the process can be nice and slow. https://silentjim.com/bookacall to inquire further about coaching and if it is a good fit
