ביאור דיוק לשון חז"ל [בנוגע ליעקב אבינו] "מה זרעו בחיים אף הוא בחיים": "זרעו" הוא גם מלשון "זריעה", שענינה – "אדם זורע קב כדי להכניס כמה כורין". והיינו, שהאופן שהעמיד יעקב תלמידים וכו' הוא – שמכל א' מהם יצמחו מאות ואלפים שילכו בדרכיו ויהיו "בחיים". ועד"ז היתה כוונת התמסרות כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר לחינוך כאו"א שכל א' מהם ייצא אח"כ ויכניס "כמה כורין". דיוק נוסף בתיבת "זרעו" – שע"י הזריעה נעשה לא רק ריבוי בכמות אלא גם ריבוי באיכות, שנעשית צמיחה של פירות חשובים יותר. וזהו המענה לטוענים שלאחרי שעוברת עוד שנה ועוד שנה, הרי מטבע הדברים שהענינים הולכים ונחלשים – אדרבה, הרי בענין ה"זריעה" הנה ככל שהפירות חשובים יותר צריכים להמתין זמן ארוך יותר לצמיחתם. ומצד התתכללות של כל בנ"י יחד, הנה גם במי ששייך ל"תבואה" מיוחדת, חסד או גבורה וכד', יכולה להיות צמיחה של מינים חשובים יותר. וכפי שתבע כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שאצל כאו"א יהיו כל עניני העבודה. וע"י ש"זרעו בחיים" הנה "אף הוא בחיים"!

Regarding Yaakov Avinu our Sages said, “Just as his seed is alive, he, too, is alive.” The expression “his seed” connotes “sowing,” regarding which the Sages taught, “a person sows one kav in order to produce many korin.” Meaning, Yaakov educated his students in such a way that every one of them should produce hundreds and thousands like himself, who follows Yaakov’s ways and is “alive.” Similarly, this was the intent of my father-in-law, the Rebbe’s, dedication to Jewish education – that every student should go out and produce “many korin.” An additional point emphasized by the expression “his seed” – “sowing” produces not only an abundance in quantity, but also in quality – producing fruit of a higher quality. This is the response to those who claim that as the years pass things become weaker: to the contrary, when it comes to “sowing,” the higher the quality of the fruits grown, the longer it takes for them to grow. And since all Jews are integrated with one another, even one who is predisposed to one particular kind of “produce,” such as Chessed or Gevurah and the like – is able to produce fruits of a higher quality. As the Rebbe, my father-in-law demanded from everyone – to incorporate all aspects of Divine service. And when “His seed is alive,” then “he, too, is alive”!
