Trisha Doharty is an author and executive director of The WISE Initiative a nonprofit she started in 2018. She is also a stay-at-home mom and serves her community to the best of her ability. 

Trisha shares her burnout story with us.  Even though, she considered herself a strong person she experienced extreme burnout.

Some of her very useful suggestions to avoid burnout are:

  • Becoming aware of your stress triggers.
  • Listen to your mind and body - they will send you messages.
  • Don't be afraid to take a step back.
  • Put yourself first and take care of yourself.
  • Reach out for help - talking to someone can make all the difference.

As a health care/mental health worker, she also discusses the ritual she practices to protect herself from the negative energy at work.
