This week Steiner is interviewing a jack-of-all trades in the entertainment industry, Jesse Cryderman!!! Jesse is the brains and brawn behind Inside Straight Production, a full-service booking, promotion and event management company. Notable bookings include JD Beck and Domi, Le Special, Wu Tang Clan, KNOWER, Riff Raff, R34L and Wintercamp Music Festival, of which Jesse is the co-founder. Jesse is also a producer and partner at Great Eye Films, an all-in-one production outfit. As a performer, Jesse is a founding member of Bifunkal and guitarist in AfroZep.

Bifunkal features Jesse (guitar, loops, keys, vox) and Hershyl Edwards (drums, vocal bass, loops, vox). The two write, orchestrate, and perform the band’s catalog, and in a live setting, all loops and samples are generated in real time. Another defining factor: drummer Hershyl Edwards sings the bass lines in real time as well. Bifunkal has shared and headlined numerous club and festival bills with acts like Elephant Wrecking Ball, Woody Goss (Vulfpeck), Sir the Baptist, Knower, Paris Monster, and has held several residencies in Chicago. AfroZep is a wild and powerful ensemble performing the music of Led Zeppelin, rearranged with traditional African rhythms.
