1. מסירת "זדים ביד עוסקי תורתך" הוא נס כמו "רבים ביד מעטים", מכיון ש"עוסקי תורתך" אינם "חיילים" שיודעים לירות וכו' כמו ה"זדים". 2. ישנם הטוענים: מה זה משנה האם השמן טהור או טמא – ה"ז אותו אור?! הנה כל הנס-חנוכה הוא הענין של שמן טהור עי"ז שזה חתום (לא עפ"י "דמוקרטי'", אלא) בחותמו של כה"ג! ורק כך גם המנורה, ביהמ"ק ועם ישראל – טהורים! ורק נרות כאלו "אינן בטלים לעולם"! 3. חנוכה הוא הנצחון על היוונים שהדגישו את הגוף, יופיו והישגיו. א' הדברים שעשו למטרה זו הי', שבזמנים קבועים היו מדליקים לפיד אש ב"מקום א'" ומביאים אותו למקום אחר וכו'. והנה הנהיגו מנהג זה באה"ק בחנוכה! הדליקו לפיד אש במודיעין, שם התחילה מלחמת מתתיהו ובניו נגד היוונים, ורצו עם זה לירושלים עיה"ק! תמורת זה שחנוכה מלמד לא להתפעל מה"משתשקע החמה", אלא להוסיף ב"נר מצוה ותורה אור"!

The deliverance of “wanton sinners into the hands of those who toil in Your Torah” is a miracle just like the deliverance of “the many into the hands of the few” – because unlike “wanton sinners,” “those who toil in your Torah” aren’t solders with knowledge of weaponry etc. 2. Some argue: what difference does it make if the oil is pure or impure, when the light is the same?! The whole miracle of Chanukah was that the pure oil was sealed (not by democratic vote etc.) but with the seal of the Kohen Gadol – only in this way can the Menorah, the Beis Hamikdash, and entire Jewish people be pure, and these are the kind of candles that “never cease”! 3. Chanukah celebrates the victory of the Greeks, who emphasized the body over the soul. One of their customs was to light a torch at a certain place, and run it from there to another place etc.; now, this custom has been copied in Eretz Yisrael on Chanukah! They lit a torch in Modi’in, where the whole war of Matisyahu and his sons began against the Greeks, and they ran with it to Yerushalayim the Holy City! This is the exact opposite of the theme of Chanukah, which is to not to be affected by the darkness of the world but rather to increase light – the candle of a mitzvah and light of Torah – and specifically “after sunset”!
