David was an avid fly fishing enthusiast when younger which brought him to some of the most picturesque and accessible wilderness regions in Southern Ontario. It was not until his own interactions in Central and Southern Ontario that he became increasingly interested in the subject. His interest saw him become the Huntsville coordinator for the O.W.F.R.
