הסיוע לענין הגאולה משלישי דפ' וישב, דלכאו' הרי מדובר אודות מכירת יוסף למצרים – היפך ענין הגאולה?! ויובן עפ"י המסופר אודות ההגירה מפולין לאמריקה בשנים שלפני מלחמת עולם הא', כשהתחיל הישוב היהודי באמריקה, שאז הסתכלו ע"ז כאילו נוסעים ממקום של הרחבה בגו"ר ל"פינה נדחת" בגו"ר, ונסעו לשם רק בלית ברירה וכו'. אבל במשך הזמן, ראו איך שיהודים אלו היו בבחי' "לפליטה ... למחי' שלחני לפניכם", ובפרט לאחרי הגזירות והשמדות ר"ל במלחמת עולם הב' כאשר "יעקב ובניו ירדו מצרימה", שמצאו באמריקה בתי כנסיות ומדרשות בשעה שמעבר לים כבר לא היו. אבל היהודים באמריקה יכולים להיות "לפליטה" רק כאשר גם כשנמצאים ב"מצרים" ומנהלים שם ענינים, "משנה למלך", זוכרים את הבתי-כנסת ומדרש שב"בית הישן", ומתגעגעים לזה, ו"יוסף" מתנהג כב"בית אבי", שזה מתבטא גם בזה ששולח את ילדיו לישיבות וכו'.

Seemingly, the Chumash for Tuesday of Parashas Vayeshev, which talks about Yosef being sold to Egypt – reflects the opposite theme of the redemption of Yud Tes Kislev? We can understand this based on the view in years bygone of Jews relocating from Europe to America. In the days before the first world war, America was viewed as a remote corner, physically and spiritually inferior, and people travelled there only because they had no choice etc. But with time, it came to be seen that when those Jews who had come here “were sent to preserve life,” especially in the wake of the destruction of the second world war, when “Yaakov and his sons went down to Egypt” and they found shuls and study halls in America – at a time that wasn’t possible in Europe. But Jews in America can only serve as “a great deliverance” in Egypt when they remember the shuls and study halls of the shtetl of old, and yearn for it, and model their lives after it, like Yosef, who even in Egypt made sure to educate his children in the ways of his father Yaakov etc.
