Mintz believes Lane Kiffin has squeezed every last drop out of this Rebel team. Ole Miss secured 10 regular-season wins for the second time in program history with a 17-7 win at rival Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl, and a postseason win would clinch the Rebels’ first-ever 11-win campaign.
Mintz just hopes it comes against Texas in the Cotton Bowl, rather than Iowa in the Citrus. Oh, and he’s got some thoughts on Mike Elko, who, months ago, Mintz predicted would end up as the new Texas A&M head coach come this silly season. But even Mintz couldn’t have predicted Mississippi State would pluck from the Kiffin Coaching Tree and hire former Rebel offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby.
