לימוד פנימיות התורה הי' בכל הדורות, ובפרט בדורו של רשב"י שעסק בלימוד התורה באופן של "בי' אחידא בי' להיטא כו'", שזהו הענין דלימוד פנימיות התורה, וגילה זאת לחבריו [וזה פעל על כל אנשי דורו, וכמובן במכ"ש וק"ו מדבריו של רשב"י "יכול אני לפטור את כל העולם כולו מן הדין" – היינו שמסר נפשו עבור אנשי דורו, וכמו משה רבינו באמרו "ואם אין מחני נא מספרך" – שמסר נפשו גם עבור חוטאי העגל!], ומזמן האריז"ל "מותר ומצוה לגלות זאת החכמה" – אבל עדיין זה לא הגיע עד ל"חוצה", אלא ההשפעה שם אז כתוצאה מגילוי האור דפנימיות התורה במקום מסויים. חידושו של אדה"ז הוא – מצד ההכרח שבדבר שנעשה אז, כידוע המשל שלו משחיקת האבן היקרה שבכתר המלך בשביל הצלת בנו ממחלתו – להפיץ ולגלות את ה"מעיינות" עצמן בכל החוגים ובכל המקומות עד ל"חוצה" עצמו. וזה נפעל בהגאולה די"ט כסלו ע"י ממשלת המדינה עצמה, היינו שה"חושך" עצמו הכריז שיש להפיץ פנימיות התורה.

The inner dimension of Torah was studied in every generation, particularly in the generation of Rashbi, who studied Torah in such a way that “I am one with Him, I have passion for Him” etc. – which refers to the of the inner dimension of Torah, which he revealed to his colleagues. What the Alter Rebbe added (due to the necessity of the time – like his analogy of grinding the crown jewel in order to heal the prince) was to spread the wellsprings themselves everywhere, even to the “outside.” And in the redemption of Yud Tes Kislev, this was brought about by the government itself: the darkness itself proclaimed that the inner dimension of Torah must be disseminated.
