Grass Fields Have MORE Achilles Tears Than Field Turf | Research Tuesday | 11.28.2023

Season 2 Published 2 years, 4 months ago
Description

There is SO MUCH talk in the NFL right now (Nov 28, 2023) about grass and field turf. So we looked at all the Achilles tears reported in the NFL thus far.

We used this document to find all 19 injuries thus far:

https://www.covers.com/sport/football/nfl/injuries

This document to see the field of each stadium:

https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/sports/nfl/which-nfl-stadiums-have-artificial-turf-vs-real-grass/2760443/

And would Google each game to ensure the injury was correct. We also looked at this Forbes article for ACL and Achilles injuries:

Shocking to some, but the field is not as important as others might think.
