You are allowed to be both disappointed and grateful.  You are allowed to want a better life at the same time you are grateful for the life you have.  You can embrace the sadness of loss and still be grateful that it ever happened.

We get told that we should always be grateful- and this is true- but an attitude of gratitude accompanies the realities of life.  To expect yourself to never feel sad, disappointed, hurt or any other negative emotion is to ignore your humanness. Just make sure when you do feel negative you don’t get stuck there.

Gratitude helps us find our way through the twists and turns of everyday living. Keeping a gratitude journal where you acknowledge at least 5 things each day that you are grateful for can help end (or start) your day with a positive mindset.
