In today’s episode, I am chatting with Odyssa Abille. Odyssa is a teacher and writer based in Vietnam, originally from the Phillippines. She is the writer of two poetry books entitled Like a New Sun Rising and From Where I Stand.

Her articles and poety are featured in international publications such as Amendo, The Good Men Project, GirlTellMe, and The Fairy Tale Magazine. In the Phillippines, her essays are part of an anthology titled Good Street under 8Letters and an upcoming project of Summit Books.

She is currently a mentee and BIPOC scholar at Middle Tennessee State University’s Write program, under the mentorship of American journalist and author, Jennifer Chesak. Outside of work and writing, she is into yoga, dogs, quiet cafes and long walks.

Odyssa shared a fantastic list of journal prompts, I have included them below:

  • Gratitude journal
  • Affirmations
  • Creative life
  • Getting things done
  • Quarterly goals

Odyssa shares so much insight in this episode. It is real, raw and relatable and she shares with us how she has used reading and writing to process through life’s trials and tribulations. I absolutely love this quote from the episode “a dream should be something that scares you.” I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did.
