[המשך] כל הנ"ל מה שנפעל ע"י לימוד החסידות מוכרח לעבודת ה' - כדי שהאדם יזהר מענינים בלתי-רצויים ויהי' "עובד אלקים" כמו שצריך. אבל זוהי עבודה בבחי' "גליא שבאדם" ("אדמה"), והוא נשאר בבחי' "יש מי שאוהב" ולא מתבטל לגמרי. 2) ועוד ענין שנפעל ע"י חסידות, והוא מה שהאדם מתבטל לגמרי ממציאותו, הוא "מכוסה" לגמרי במקור חיותו - אלקות (ע"ד נבראים שבים). וזה בא דוקא ע"י לימוד החסידות (משא"כ בנגלה דתורה שייך שהאדם ישכח ח"ו על נותן התורה), ובשופי, כענין לעצמו - "דע את אלקי אביך". וכיון שעבודה זו לא מוכרחת לעבודה בפועל, ה"ז נמשל ל"מרגליות" שלא מוכרחים. אבל זהו כשהאדם נמצא בד' אמותיו, אבל כשמתכונן להיכנס למלך ה"ה מתקשט בהתאם - גם עם מרגליות! ובנמשל: כעת, כאשר "הנה הוא עומד אחר כתלנו", והנה תהי' ה"נשואין" וה"חופה" של כאו"א מישראל עם ממה"מ הקב"ה ומגיע הזמן של "אויס יש"! צריכים להתכונן בהתאם - מוכרחים גם את ענין ה"מרגליות" - ללמוד חסידות ובשופי כנ"ל!

[Continued.] (1) The abovementioned effects of studying Chassidus are indispensable to Divine service – for a person to do what he must and be “one who serves Hashem” properly. But it all pertains to the revealed aspect of the person (“land”), and ultimately, it doesn’t render him completely nullified; he remains an “entity who loves.” (2) Then there’s another effect of studying Chassidus, that it renders a person completely nullified, he’s completely “covered” by his life-force – G-dliness (like fish are covered by the sea. For this, it’s not enough to study Nigleh (where it’s possible to forget the Giver of the Torah, chas v’shalom), rather, one must study Chassidus in abundance, to “know the G-d of your father.” And since this aspect of studying Chassidus isn’t absolutely indispensable to one’s practical service, it is like “pearls” which are merely an adornment, and which one can do without. However, that applies only when one is in his own four cubits. By contrast, when he’s about to go to the king’s palace, he must prepare himself accordingly, including with pearls! The analogue: we are on the verge of Redemption, “behold he is standing behind our wall,” which will be the “wedding” of every Jew and Hashem, and to prepare accordingly, we must adorn ourselves with “pearls” as well – we must become completely nullified, and for that we must study Chassidus abundantly!
