When I was a kid, I used to LOVE it when it snowed. Snow days, sledding, building a snowman. So much fun!
But, when I turned 16, my love affair with snow ended. That’s because I had to start driving in the white stuff.
When you have a good set of snow tires and front wheel (or all wheel) drive, you can go pretty much anywhere. But, if you have a set of tires with no tread, you are going to have a bad day.
It’s all about friction. As you know, friction is “the resistance that one surface or object encounters when moving over another.”
Creating "friction" in your life can be an effective strategy for breaking bad habits and starting good ones. The idea is to make it more difficult to engage in your bad habits while making it easier to adopt more positive behaviors.
Your email inbox is a chronological list of everyone else’s priorities. As private school leaders, we spend way too much time dipping in and out of email all day long. We feel like we are being productive, but this is actually the least productive way that we can engage with our emails.
