The Eucharist- Part 2- The Union
The Eucharist. Part 2- The Union. The major theme of this segment is ‘the kiss of the bridegroom.’ The Mass procession is a reminder that every Mass is a wedding.
Presented by Jimmy Seghers
Jesus’ wedding reception begins in the upper room on Holy Thursday. It continues on Good Friday when our sins nailed him to his wedding bed and will be celebrated triumphantly in heaven as the marriage supper of the lamb. Jimmy takes us through scripture from the Song of Songs, Ezekial, and Jerimiah, to Ephesians, Galatians, and Revelations, explaining the relationship and union of the bridegroom, ‘Jesus,’ and his bride, ‘the Church.’ He shares how the bridegroom is deeply rooted in the covenant God established with his people, and its bond forms a nuptial relationship with God. Jimmy concludes by explaining the ‘three kisses’ and how we are transformed as we receive holy communion. Leading to the fulfillment of Jesus prayer, “Father, that they may be all in one, as you, Father, are in me and I in thee, that they may also be in us.”
