A Civil Dialogue about Autogynephilia, with Phil Illy & Shannon Thrace
Description
I asked Phil and Shannon if they would join me for a conversation today as the online controversy over Phil's presence at the Genspect conference continues. I have not spent much time learning about autogynephilia, and this conversation was educational for me. I hope you will enjoy it and follow Phil and/or Shannon for more. Shannon Thrace is a writer, cultural critic, and IT professional who lives for travel, good food and summer music festivals. She’s the author of 18 Months: A Memoir of a Marriage Lost to Gender Identity — the story of the dissolution of her fifteen-year marriage when her partner began to identify as transgender. Illy's book explains the psychology of cross-gender attraction so that autoheterosexuals can better understand their gender feelings, jettison shame, and make more fully informed decisions regarding gender transition.
