Neuralink has thousands of people ready to drill a hole in their heads
Published 2 years, 4 months ago
Description
The procedure to implant this device is as intricate as the technology itself. It's not for the faint of heart. A piece of the skull is temporarily removed to allow a robot, precise to a level that's hard to fathom, to insert super-thin threads into the brain. These threads are the conduits through which the brain will communicate with the outside world. And when the surgery is complete, the device takes the place of the bone that was removed. It's high stakes and high precision, reflecting the immense challenge Neuralink is taking on.
