11. Vitamin C and the Carnivore Diet

Published 7 years ago
Description

How do we get Vitamin C on a Carnivore Diet? What about scurvy?

Let's talk all things Vitamin C in this episode. Since making this episode, I have done extensive research into nutrient breakdowns for various meats. Pork belly, salmon, salmon roe, liver and other meats have vitamin C. In fact, 6 ounces of salmon will give you 6.6 mg or 7% of your daily value for vitamin C. As we learn in the episode, carnivores likely do not need as much vitamin C as people that consume a standard American diet since there is minimal glucose fighting for the same uptake receptors.
