12. “While the World is at War” - On managing stress, grief, and anxiety during heavy times
Description
When the world is weighing heavy on us and heated topics are everywhere, from social media and news outlets to our family's dinner table, it can be challenging to manage our mental health and especially to deal with triggers as they arise. In today's episode, I'll go into what has helped me manage stress. I'll touch on:
- cognitive dissonance
- the importance of being aware of our internal experience
- tips for managing triggers
- how to feel safer in your body and the techniques that have helped me
- tapping/EFT, emotional freedom technique
As part of this episode, I also have a follow-up that is a guided meditation that you can use to help you relax. See episode 13 for that!
