The Penn State Football team got a needed but scarier-than-expected win over Indiana on Saturday at Beaver Stadium. In a rarity for the Nittany Lions, the team didn’t cover against an opponent they were a heavy favorite against.

Penn State recruiting impressions and reaction

While the list of recruits will certainly be more intensive for the next home game against Michigan, the list for Indiana included some impressive players. On today’s show, we’ll discuss Alex Tatsch, Jermaine Kinsler, Naeshaun Montgomery, and more.

While he’s a 2025 prospect, Montgomery is a top receiver prospect and someone Penn State needs in a big way. How did things go this weekend? Join the show to find out.

Game reaction and discussion

Even in Penn State’s blowout wins, they’ve seemingly struggled to be consistent on offense. We’ll discuss the Nittany Lion’s offense on today’s show to dissect the good and bad from the game.

On the bad side, the team went three and out three times and had several sub 25-yard drives during the afternoon. Yet after a costly turnover late in the game, the Penn State offense and Drew Allar responded with an emphatic 78-yard touchdown drive, capped off by a 57-yard strike from Allar to KeAndre Lambert-Smith.

So, was this an evolution from the offense or a one-off play? If it’s an evolution, did the way it happened to come as a relief to an offense that seems to play tight and afraid of mistakes?

“No, but it was awesome. I enjoyed it. That was awesome. I wouldn’t describe it that way, but yeah, obviously Drew’s being able to sit in there and deliver that ball. KeAndre, being able to make that play and finish and stay in bounds was awesome. As you guys know, we talked about it enough. We talked about it a bunch. We’ve got to continue to be able to do that. So, that was awesome. It was awesome,” Penn Stae head coach James Franklin said after the game.
