Neil Gust joins us to talk about the new Heatmiser compilation released recently on Third Man Records. For those who may not know, Heatmiser was the band Elliott Smith and Neil formed while they were in college. Other discussion includes quitting the business at one point, KBOO, trying to get a show in Seattle and the divide between Portland and Seattle music scenes, talkbox and cowbell, ground zero for power ballads, Axel Rose, Nils Lofgren and Crazy Horse, and how "Hair of the Dog" is THE template for rock music albums.
