Hockey Talk takes on a somber tone this week as Patrick & Dave discuss the tragic passing of former NHL player Adam Johnson, who died as the result of a horrific accident during a game in England over the weekend. While the circumstances of this event are certainly rare, it has happened enough times that the guys had to ponder whether enough was being done to protect players from this type of injury? In other news, the NHL was rocked by a confusing gambling scandal that led to a 41-game suspension for Shane Pinto, and the NHL followed Pat and Dave's advice (a year later but, hey, who's counting) and decided to distance themselves from getting involved in whether players want to openly support the LGBTQ movement. On the positive side of things though, the NHL held a Frozen Frenzy last week with all 32 teams in action on one night. Thye guys loved this idea and discuss whether the NHL should make this a regular event.
