Smith’s “Lone Pine” resume reads like the win record for Kentucky’s Calumet Farms or, to keep it local, the six-time Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers. Smith’s hounds had a breakout year in money-hunt competition in 2023, with Lone Pine Lady and Lone Pine Bella respectively, winning a truck and a first-place finish worth $100 grand. Both occupy prominent spots in the conversation.
This is a coon hunter’s episode with all the elements that push the hot buttons of hunters of all persuasions; pleasure hunting, competition and breeding to name a few.
